Louise´s objects range from fictional tools and equipment for use in the pursuit of leisure; backyard inventions and labour-saving devices; to toys and machines that appear to be the result of a hobbyist´s tinkering. The often unclear or redundant use for these objects hints at a Sisyphusian futility and our tendency to over-equip and over-engineer in our attempts to be earnestly purposeful. More recent works reveal darker reflections on transience and the dogged persistence of hope.
